What to Expect - Phase One
With the expansion of additional specialty modules, SEEDS4Schools is receiving some development updates. The change to the application will be done in a minimum of two phases, with the first phase being released in May-June.
What is Changing & Why
- While we love SEEDS4Schools and ADAPT4Schools, we realize that they lack much of what today’s modern web applications (cloud based software) have. In development planning, we came to the conclusion that we would need to move SEEDS and ADAPT to a new platform in order to modernize them.
- “Modernize” means standards and features such as today’s top level user authentication, data storage, user interface navigation and ease of use, ADA compliant user interface screens, tablet-screen size friendly, along with many additional security and safe data hosting compliance standards. Some of these features and standards will be obvious changes for you, but many are infrastructure and architecture level changes that we need to provide to ensure we protect your data and provide you with the best possible user experience.
- With this new development, IEP4Schools (SEEDS) will be connected to the 4Schools Student Services web application and central database. This brings about a new, exciting advantage for all 4Schools Student Services customers in that your student data can now be shared seamlessly across any module that you purchase! Once complete, there will be no added data work for students needing multiple plans, including both EL and IEPs for example.
- There will be no change to your current SEEDS data. Your data will be kept safe!
- If your school district contracts with additional modules (now or in the future), the central student database will represent all the applicable module data and allow easy access (based on permissions) to any applicable student form.
What To Expect
- In Phase One, users will now login to a new 4Schools Student Services dashboard, and from there be able to link through to IEP4Schools. You will see the updated student search screens in your dashboard and a new message board for communication.
- Once linked through the IEP4Schools user interface will look identical to what you know today. There will not be any changes inside the reports, forms, etc. for IEP4Schools.
- You can still search for students the same way you do inside SEEDS4Schools today, but in addition, you will have the added search student ability in the 4Schools Student Services central student search.
- As you add or modify student data, that data will not only be saved and stored in IEP4Schools as it is today, but also saved out to the central student database.
- Future phases of IEP4Schools will have us updating the interface and moving the system to be fully integrated (versus linked as phase one is) inside the 4Schools Student Services Modules. This will include many exciting enhancements and interface upgrades for IEP4Schools. If you are interested in understanding more of how the future IEP4Schools will look, just ask us for a tour of EL4Schools today.
- ADAPT will not be affected in Phase One. It will continue to be accessed as usual. Future phases will include the full integration of ADA4Schools (ADAPT) as a module in the 4Schools Student Service application. This will allow for many of the enhancements that have been requested since the initial rollout of ADAPT, as well as the integration with the entire 4Schools Student Service application.
