Staff with User Database permission can add a new user in User Database.
Prior to Adding New Users
Before a new user is added, it is best practice to first search ALL Inactive Users.
- If the user already has a SEEDS account, Activate the user and Edit the user's permissions.
- If the user has shared that they have a current, Active, SEEDS account, submit a Help Ticket. SEEDS Support will add the new district to the current account.
Adding a User
- Go to Toolbox - User Database
- Click on Add User
- SEEDS4Schools Customer: Select which district or CESA with which to associate the user.
- First Name: Add user’s first name.
- Last Name: Add user’s last name.
- Title: Select from the drop down list the user’s title. Note: The title is not associated with level of permission in SEEDS.
- Email: Add the user’s email address. Note: A green checkmark will appear if the email address is available. If the email address is already in use, a validation message will appear. This means that the user has an account in SEEDS. Send a Help Ticket for additional assistance.
- Google Account: Add Google account information (if applicable)
- User Name: Add user name. Note: The User Name is a historical field and is not used in SEEDS. Any combination of characters and letters can be added. The new user does not need to know their User Name.
- User Level: Select either Admin or Standard user. Permissions will default based on the selection. An explanation of each permission can be found at the Help Center Article - User Database Explanation of User Permissions
Additional Notes:
In order for staff to show up in the drop down for a class or itinerant list staff, select "Staff Access to Caseload" under Enrollment Section Permissions when adding a user.
- Enter the District in the "Associate staff with the following district" field.
- Select if the staff member will have access to only students on their class or itinerant list, or if they will have access to all students in the district.
- The word "(Staff)" will show up on the main page of the User Database next to the person's name if this section is completed.
