Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, all districts need to enter their Key and Secret directly into SEEDS. Go to WISEdata: Initial Set-up for more information.
WISEdata Settings allows districts to schedule when their initial bulk send of WISEdata - SEPA records will be sent at the beginning of the school year.
After the initial data transfer from SEEDS to WISEdata for the school year, SEPA data will update in real-time when the data is updated in SEEDS.
A summary of directions can be found in this document.
- Go to Toolbox - WISEdata Settings.
- Select the District
- Click on WISE Start Date.
- Enter the Begin Date for the School Year: This date should match the SIS, and should represent the first day of school for the school year.
- Click Schedule Run to send the data.
- Enter the date that you want to start sending data. Data will start to send at 4:00 PM and the districts who scheduled their data for that day will be in a queue and sent accordingly.
- The results will be emailed to the user who scheduled the data to send. Data can also be verified by running the WISEdata Comparison report.
Notes about Sending WISEdata from SEEDS:
- WISEdata Settings is available to users with WISEdata Settings>Create/Edit permission in User Database.
- Student enrollments must be set up in your SIS prior to scheduling the initial run for the district in SEEDS.
- Use the WISEdata Settings only at the beginning of the school year.
- To check on WISEdata from SEEDS after the initial send, use the WISEdata Comparison Report in SEEDS to compare WISEdata with SEEDS.
- The WISEdata Settings page will be turned off after the initial set up in order to prevent users from sending bulk data or accidentally changing the first day of the school year.
- SEEDS does not bulk send data to WISE throughout the year. It will send at the beginning of the year based on WISEdata Settings determined by the district. After the initial bulk send, SEPA records are sent individually and in real time as they are created.
To help relieve the amount of work as the snapshot date approaches, it is strongly recommended to check errors in WISEdata on a regular basis using the WISEdata Comparison report in SEEDS.
