The WISEdata Parent and Student Sync (WISEdata PaSS) is designed to ensure your SEEDS Student and Parent tab information matches data in your Student Information System (SIS).
Districts can register to begin using WISE PaSS using this link. SEEDS Support will be in touch when a registration is received in order to train district staff in using WISE PaSS.
Overview:
WISEdata PaSS assumes that the SIS is the source of truth for all parent and student data. WISEdata PaSS compares Student and Parent data in SEEDS with corresponding data at WISE.
When the data doesn’t match, SEEDS will notify assigned district staff that there is a discrepancy, and district staff will be able to pull the data points from WISE into SEEDS.
DPI does not require districts to send Parent information, but they strongly encourage districts to send this information to WISE.
System Requirements:
In order for your district to start using the WISEdata PaSS, the following requirements must be met:
- Your district must send parent data to WISE from your SIS at least weekly.
- Your district must send data to WISE from SEEDS.
- Students must have a WISEid entered in SEEDS on the Student Detail View.
- Students must have your district listed as Placement District.
- Your district administrator must approve this feature.
- Staff using the WISEdata PaSS must have Admin level permission in User Database, and SEPA/TIE checked in their account.
How WISEdata PaSS Works:
Admin Staff will receive an alert on the SEEDS home page if there are any updates available from WISE.
Admin users can choose to accept changes individually by student, or accept all changes available.
To accept individual changes:
- Click the individual checkbox in the right column of the row of data that will be accepted.
- Click "Submit Sync Changes" on the bottom left side of the WISE Sync Summary screen.
To accept all changes:
- Click "Accept All Changes" on the bottom right side of the WISE Sync Summary screen.
- This will select all of the checkboxes in the right column.
- Click "Submit Sync Changes" on the bottom left side of the WISE Sync Summary screen.

What if I accept changes and I realize they are wrong?
- Historical view is available in V4. Reference Historical View to determine information that was previously in each field.
Will WISEdata PaSS impact SEPA/TIE?
- No. SEPA and TIE records sent data. WISEdata PaSS receives data. The data sources are pulled from different sources and do not impact each other.
What data will be updated with WISEdata PaSS?
- Student Tab: Student Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Primary Phone, Phone Type, Gender, Races
- Parent/Guardian Tab: Relationship, Full Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code. Primary Phone, Primary Phone Type, Primary Email
We are a district that uses WISEdata PaSS. Why is it not available all the time?
- There are no available changes since the last update.
- The feature resets nightly, which means that changes can only be accepted or rejected once daily. Another district admin may have already accepted or rejected changes in WISEdata PaSS.
